Terms such as “weatherproof” or “waterproof” are too broad to define a complete construction. A more useful discussion explains the actual exposure, desired maintenance access, and local conditions. Environmental information allows protection measures to be matched to the project instead of relying on a generic specification.
Quotation and Production Checks
A professional quotation should clearly describe the sign structure, dimensions, materials, lighting method, power equipment, controllers, mounting accessories, packaging, testing, and shipping scope. Buyers should be able to understand which items are included and which responsibilities remain with the local installer, electrician, engineer, landlord, or permitting authority.
Before production begins, confirm whether the logo is manufacturable at the required size, whether any strokes must be widened, what body depth is proposed, which face and return materials will be used, how LEDs and power supplies will be grouped, where cables will exit, what mounting hardware is included, whether a paper or rigid template will be provided, and how large products will be divided for transportation.
For multi-location or repeat projects, document control is essential. The approved artwork version, dimensions, finish, color, light temperature, LED layout, mounting holes, cable positions, and packaging labels should be retained. This makes future additions and replacements more consistent and reduces the need to rebuild the specification from old messages.
Commercial clients can also request pre-shipment photographs, lighting videos, packing photographs, and accessory lists. These records provide a useful checkpoint before international dispatch and help local installers identify each component after delivery.
